Should I clean my Glock if....

I haven't cleaned it since I went to the range last, that is I cleaned it after the range of course, but in the meantime of the past month, I've dry fired it hundreds of times, used the slide tons of course and shot a few primer only rounds, no GP or bullets.

I.e. the wear on the slide etc. Should I lube again before going out? I just don't want to over lube etc. Total newb to pistols.

Yes, always make sure the firearm is lubed before it is shot. Being dirty isn't an issue as long as it's lubed.

You can leave the lube alone if there's still some left or wipe off and relube. Just go by what the manual say about not putting too much.

it takes minutes and hurts nothing. Why not? Hell, it can even be therapeutic. Hoppes smells nice.

Its a Glock. Glocks can easily go thousands of rounds without cleaning. I usually like to keep mine relatively clean, but addidng lube to a clean Glock isn't the best idea. Glocks don't really need lube. If you clean it with something like CLP then you can just wipe it with a dry cloth to get most of the CLP off before reassembly. The residual lube is more than enough to run your Glock smoothly. Do not liberally apply lube to a Glock like you would on other pistols. Glocks run better with less.

The only FTE and FTF I have had on any of my modern semi's was a Beretta 92FS that had been put away clean/lubed then sat for 10 years. After stripping, cleaning and lubing after each range outing that gun has run flawlessly for 1000's additional rounds.

Many of the guys at a local range go 10's of 1000's of rounds between cleanings of their Glocks and H&K's. Kind of a competitive, who will blink first, thing with them.

The previous post of following the manufacturers recommendations is probably the best advice.

Keep your gun squeaky clean. If the SHTF, I'd much rather start out w/ a clean gun than a dirty one that will get much dirtier as the days go on

I just clean and wipe what I can see and get to. I use gunzilla and what ever I don't wipe off while cleaning is used as lube. Sometimes I'll touch the side of my eye dropper (I keep my lube in an eye dropper bottle, works great when trying to not apply to much) and what ever lube is stuck on the side in enough to life the action.

I never ever put lube in the fire pin or any working parts of the trigger.
