Problem with Fail to Feed (FTF) on new P220 ST?

I have just purchased a new Sig 220ST and I had a lot of problem with FTF:

1. I use the original Sig 8 round mag, with WWB ball (230g), no problem at all. When I change to WWB ball (185 g), it has FTF. Problem went away when I insert only 4 rounds.

I am a 1911 guy and this is my first Sig. Do we need to "break-in" the new magazine (for the coil)?

I think the problem is related to the spring coil... or is it something else? What can I do to fix the problem?

Your 220 shouldn't be doing this and I'm not expert enough to tell you why it is, but there are some VERY experienced people there who will have some suggestions for you.

Can you be more specific? Where is the bullet getting hung up? What is it contacting? Is it seriously jammed (ie doublefeed) or will it feed if you tap on the back of the slide or retract it slightly and let go? Pics would be best. FTF can be lots of things.

If you think it's mag related load one mag with the max and the other with 4 rounds and compare. Is the cartridge at the top held the same in each mag? Insert the mags into the gun with the slide back and see where the bullet looks like it will contact the feed ramp. Is the location the same?
