Well then it gets seriously tricky, doesn't it? What kind of charge does the round have? Is it expanding? How many FPS at impact? How long is the barrel it is being fired from? I'm not trying to be pedantic, but stopping power is a nearly unquantifiable variable.

I will take a HK 45 and pop ya with 4 rounds FAST !!!!!!!! 44 mag is very good but 4 45,s rounds are better and remember it's a 10 round clip. there are no 44 mag 10 round clips that I know of . feel free to correct me

44 magnum has more umph to it. If this is for home defense though then just go with what you can afford to practice and excel in. If you can control a 44 magnums recoil like a 45acp then I say go with the 44

Ah yes, I saw a study that said .44 magnum has precisely 16.7% more "umph" than .45 ACP. I always look for the highest "umph" ratings when I buy ammo.
