    Five Seven Sight In issue

I just got a Five seveN and went to the range and noticed it shoots low. I noticed that the front sight sits pretty high. Where I place the front sight on the target, the impact is lower ie aiming for chest and getting belly shots. I tried to adjust the elevation on the rear sight but doesn't seem to do too much. Is there a certain hold that I have to do? I tried the usual 3 dot "center" hold where the point of impact is behind the front sight. How would you go about performing adjustments? Any input is greatly appreciated. BTW it was all done at 7 yards.

The first time I fired a 5.7, I shot low as well. I was anticipating a much larger recoil, so I "pushed" the barrel down with every shot in anticipation of the recoil.

Any chance you're doing the same?

Have someone else shoot it to see if it's the shooter or the gun. When I shot my friend's it seemed dead on. Kinda felt like a 22. So easy to shoot, just ammo is expensive.

Remove the front sight and sand paper the bottom until it aligns to the rear sight.

Or you could have a smith take a look at it.

+1 on havoing someone else try it. Although the sites may be off, if the gun is new to you it may take a little time to get used to it.

It's quite possible, maybe I should relax and not "push" on it. Thanks never looked at it that way.

My friend tried to shoot it but he's a bad shot. Maybe I'll find someone else.

Had mine for over two yrs. I called mine a magnum 22 and other names. Needless to say I wasn't impressed when I first took it out. I was considering selling it. I took it out again and fell in love w/ it. I was wondering why it is a home defense pistol as this thing likes long range targets. The sights are dead on at 100-150 yards. These bullets shoot fast and flat. Try it at longer range. I still have a hard time hitting close targets comparativly. And like RIPS31 said, try it from a rest.

2 cents closer to a buck.

What type of ammo are you using? I find that using different type of ammo changes my impact. When I sight in my 5.7 for Elite Ammo's Protector, SS 195, or SS 198 it can shoot dead on, but when I shot the Elite Ammo's 55 grain ammo it shot low. Thought it was me but after several shots I made a group several inches lower than the other ammo.
