I am interested in getting my C&R and COE. I am mostly interested in old sidearms. Is there any licenses a private collector can get to avoid the fees and nonsense of the middleman in California. Or should I just buy the sidearms once i have a C&R out of state then regester them upon return?

You can buy handguns out of state in person no problem, just send your $19 fee to the DOJ. If you buy online, it has to be sent to a FFL but then you can bring it home without the wait.
