Feeding problem with my new P380

I have this feeding problem with my wife's Kahr P380. I will be sending it back to Kahr but I just want to share this problem for those who are thinking of purchasing P380s. This is my second one and the first I got didn't have such issue. It fed flawlessly any ammo I gave to my first P380. My wife saw it and she wanted one for she said that it was "cute".

Anyways, going back to the problem. It seems like it has a striker issue. The end part of the cartridge always gets caught with the striker and jamming before it gets into the chamber.

I have shot around 300 rounds and almost every other magazine that these thing happens. The only way that I can make it flawlessly to feed is to back the slide and hold it with the slide stop. Once I insert a loaded magazine, then I would release the slide stop and it chambers perfectly. But I know it should not be that way always.

So here are the actual pictures:

There is a bur in the firing pin channel or on the pin structure itself. Like your first one, my P380 has had 200 or so flawless rounds through it and it has yet to be cleaned.

So you got a defective gun, send it back to Kahr and have them fix it. Not sure of what value this is to someone that is thinking of buying a P380.

It is just giving them an idea of what might be some problem. I am not implying for them not to buy. In fact, I like Kahrs. But as problems arise should also be awareness. That's all I want to tell others. I am not bad mouthing Kahr at all.

Am not a Kahr owner, but the picture of the firing pin looks as though the gun is not cocking when the slide cycles. That is not a good thing at all, send it back!!!

This is the response I got when I requested for an RMA.

Good morning. I am sorry you are having trouble with your P380. It is perfectly normal for the striker to stick out like that once the firearm has been dry fired. This issue can be caused if you attempt to hand rack the firearm. Our firearms are designed to chamber via the slide stop only. To accomplish this, simply lock the slide back on an empty chamber, insert a loaded magazine, and depress the slide stop to chamber a round. I hope this has answered your question and should you have any others please feel free to email or call at any time.

            sincerely,
            Jay

Thought you were posting a picture of what the gun looks like when it fails to feed? That this malfunction happens during normal shooting?

I just checked my sons P380, it does the same thing while dry firing, but as Glockwise letter points out, it's normal , and my kids gun functions flawlessly, that is for the 30 rounds it's fired.

Has your gun had this problem while firing?
