Sig 220 Value

Can anybody give me an idea as to what my early Sig 220 is worth. Its the european model with the heal clip release. It does not say Browning on the receiver. Gun is 95%. Thanks for your help. JT

I'm guessing most of the original finish is on the pistol...350-500$

Might be a little more depending how many oem magazines, if you have original box and

papers. Just my 2cents, hope this helps.

potentially a very desirable handgun. give some information such as caliber, markings on gun, etc.

these have picked up in value....

i believe this Sig was made in 1983; i don't have my cheat sheet in front of me, but i believe i am correct.

Hi Jeff. Check our what recent similar aged 220s have sold for on GunBroker and GunsAmerica. Not sure what "Blue Book" value is on it, but what they actually sell for is usually the best barometer, IMO. I found 3 within the last 8 weeks that went from $340-$470. Just FYI. Didn't see a frame SN. Should have three matching SN, frame, slide and barrel.

do your magazines have rectangular holes in addition to the holes that allow you to view your rounds? if so... there would be 4 rectangular holes. if holes are present the magazines are "American" and although they will work for the Euro model, were made for the side button magazine release (American P220).

if your magazines do not have the 4 rectangular holes... they were in fact made for your Euro P220, and will not work in an "American" style P220 with side button magazine release.

if your magazines are Euro style magazines... their value is higher than the American style magazines and are not easy to find. a purist P220 collector who owns a P220 European model would want those magazines badly.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. They dont have any rectangular cutouts as you mentioned. Therefore if your correct, they are indeed Euro clips. I appreciate everyones input. JT

i'd like to know the story of your P220; did you recently obtain it? did you inherit the gun? what are your plans for it?
