    Opinions on CZ 75 Compact?

I don't have a .40 S&W yet and am eyeing the CZ 75 Compact. This would be a factory new, recently manufactured pistol (I mention that because I remember a reviewer having issues with the first iteration of this model).

    Factors I'm considering:
    • I prefer all metal guns. I don't have CCW permit, so this would be just for range use and home defense.
    • Grip ergonomics. I have small hands: for comparison's sake, my Sig P6 fits my grip perfectly and my 1911 is a close second.
    • I want a solid performing and accurate pistol out of the box. While I might send it off to Angus or Miossi one day, I don't want to worry about having to fiddle much with the CZ.
    • Good customer service would be nice.
    • Manageable felt recoil.

So those of you who have experience with this pistol, do you think it would meet the above criteria?

Since you have small hands you should try handling a cz. The double action trigger pull is kind of a stretch. Single action is fine and the gun can be cocked and locked. I have no problem reaching the trigger but I have heard that some people with small hands have issues. Other than that czs are great pistols. Mark

I have a compact in 9mm. It is heavy for it's size being all steel. Not a big deal for me since i can only carry it on desert trips. It is accurate and so far reliable with no malfunctions in the 10 years I have owned it. I love the ergos os the CZs. They fit my hand perfectly. The double action first shot is a bit of a stretch but not bad. I can't carry cocked and locked since I am a lefty and it only has the safety on the4 wrong side for me.

All I have done to it to was install the night sights.

I can't say how the .40 is but I really like my 9mm.
