    Hair Trigger fix?

    Hey Guys,
I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44Mag from a fellow calgunner and this is by far the most "exciting" gun I've ever shot. Since it's a SA I was expecting a light trigger pull but this breaks at about 1 1/2 lb and will go off if you touch the trigger. Needless to say on a .44 this can be "exciting" at best and dangerous-as-hell at worst. I was considering keeping this gun as a trainer for god trigger-finger discipline but really I should probably get it fixed. Is there a home remedy for this or do I need to visit Mr. Smith?

    Thanks,
    Blood Ocean

Pull the grips off and make sure both trigger return spring legs are hooked over the pin that retains them. If yes then you can add spring preload by bending the spring legs down at a point about 1/3 inch from the hooked end. Unhook, bend about 20 degrees on each side and rehook them. Try it again. If this does not fix your problem then it needs a gunsmith's attention.
