    SA Loaded 1911

After much heartache and searching on what I should buy, I finally came down on the SA Loaded Ultra Compact (PX9161LP). However, no stores in town carry any SA compacts, so online I went to find my new gun. As I am searching, I'm also reading up on the status of the various cases CGF has pending, and after reading the brief in Pena, on a whim I went to check the roster. Horrors! The roster only lists the PX9161L. Deflated, I turn here with the minute hope that CA views them as the same gun, and therefore that I am able to acquire the currently manufactured model, rather than scouring the tubes for a NIB -L that seems to have ceased production in 2007...

Welcome to the frustrations associated with the CA approved list.

Either - purchase NIB from the approved list or find a PPT purchase of an off list firearm.
All legal, or do a family transfer from out of state of a non list firearm.

PPT or intra familial transfer (has to be vertically up and down the family line only) or single shot exemption for importation.

*edit* P is just package isn't it? If so that shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't think of that; I just did searches for the -LP and got current hits and items for sale, searched for -L and got bupkis for the past couple years. I'd be happy to trade my second post making me look like an idiot if I can get the gun I want.

P is just a package designation. If you look on the roster, no SA pistol lists a "P" at the end. Your pistol is CA approved!

I did, and made the assumption that SA revamped their model line; thankfully that appears to be incorrect. Thanks for the corrections!
