How do I buy a stripped 1911 receiver?

Hello all. I tried using the search feature, but to no avail. Basically I would like to purchase a Les Baer Stripped 1911 receiver from an out of state vendor in order to build a 1911 from Scratch. Is the process similar to purchasing a stripped AR Lower or is there more BS involved?

I was told that I could not do this because it would not be able to pass the drop test on the Safe Gun List. If so, would I need to have the lower completed and modified into a single shot pistol configuration to get it transferred to me or should I wait until this list gets defeated?

Much more involved, you have to deal with the roster and all the usual handgun purchase requirements.

If you want it now, you would have to have it modified into a single shot configuration.

Unless you are exempt, they can't sell it to you as is anyway. It still needs to be converted for an exemption.
