    Handguns and paperwork

Quick question for you gents. I have been selling quite a few handguns lately, I was wondering how long I should hold on to the "original" DROS paperwork? Should I just keep the PPT transfer sheet and shread the rest?

I keep all of mine in my safe in a folder... not a bad idea to have records if and or when you need them.

Say for example there is a issue... do you really want to trust your freedom to California's DOJ? and their ability to quickly find paperwork to exonerate you?

Keep all the paper work you never know what you might need it for.. strange things happen and if they do you will have everything you need for what ever reason.

Scan them and keep them on file. I've come across guns that were used in a crime and LEOs have to go through do much paper trail. It's best to help them and yourself out.

Personally I would keep the hard copies in a safe and scan them onto a disk or file as a back up but that's just me.
