    Price check please!!!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but not new to firearms. Looking for some input. I'm looking for a Sig p226 in 9mm. I've been considering the CPO since this will be a shooter, not a safe queen, and have come across one in a local gun shop for $620, 2 mags, no rail. I don't know any real details about it as I was just popping in for some ammo and happened to see it. Is this a reasonable price? Am I a fool to pay that much? .45 is getting mighty tough on the wallet, and a 9mm p226 should be a tack driver with a reasonable price on feeding it. Opinions? Thanks. I like pirates...Tim

I could sell you one (if we have any left) for $499.99

To clarify, this was in response to his consideration of the pre-owned Sig, not, I repeat NOT a NEW one.

HMMM??? I'll have to off my XD45 first, they were going to give me almost what I paid for it, since they seem to fly off their shelves. Let me know anyway...where you located?

45 is expensive (college student)and the DAO trigger doesn't agree with my fiance. That and I've always wanted a p226, I just never saw one for less than about $800 new. Did you find one?

On Sig Forums you can look around too. for $499 it's a good deal. I picked up a P-226 CPO No mags as they were hi-caps for $475 shipped to CA + $50 transfer fee. I have yet to go shoot it though, today might change that :-P

You may be the guy who jumped on that deal before I could on sig forum. My membership wasn't approved yet so I was too slow. I've never had a firearm shipped from out of state. What's the process there? Is it complicated?

It wasn't me!!! I got mine from JC Weaponry and he has about 4 different P-226's for sale, All are $499 shipped on the thread, however those are hi-caps so you can ask him to reduce the price for the loss of mags.

here's the link to the thread.

Buying from out of state takes a little more patience and time but you save alot. You first have to look around for an FFL that will do the transfer for a resonable price. I go to Bright Spot Pawn in Riverside for mine. They charge $50 for it flat. Jason at JC Weaponry needs you to send him a signed copy of the ffl or have it faxed to him. from there you send him your payment, he recieves it and then once funds clear he sends it (the gun) to your ffl. once it gets there, you fill out all necessary paper work and pay the fee and then wait your 10 days and viola after 10 days you have a gun :-P. I saved so much money that it's crazy. Turners had P-220 CPO going for $599(on sale) plus tax and fees. I picked mine up for $550 with Dros. same with the P-226. Both guns are in pristine condition and you would never think that they were ever used.

                  Good Luck!

CPOs are a great value. As others have stated, they regularly sell for $500-$550. A true Sig CPO will come with a red box, blue Sig band around the grips, and a one year factory warranty. You can't go wrong.

If you could save up the money you sohuld try and get a 226R DAK. They are nice guns. The trigger is awesome on them.

If you decide to ship one into CA, check the dealers on the sigforum. Summit Gun Broker has P226R .40 CPOs with night sights for $525...
