How quick do they renew guns for DOJ?

I'm looking at some significant purchases next year and what I noticed is that three of the four guns I want expire before may, which is before i can afford to get them.

Needless to say stuff like the Glock 31, Five Seven and others. Do the companies get these things back on the lists a few weeks later or is this like a yearly wait? Or do they renew a few days after it expires?

Responsive manufactures would know when the expiration date is and would pay the fee early. S&W and Ruger are two that I know of.

If the model has been discontinued, don't count on it getting renewed.

You could call the manufacture and ask.

I just went through this with a Springfield. I e-mailed them to ask them when that model was going back on the list, it having expired a few days before. Being Springfield, they replied promptly and advised that it would be back on as of midnight two days from the date of the reply I got. Well, maybe it was DOJ's delay but it took several days to get back on the list but sure enough, the $200 was paid.

In your situation you should contact the manufacturer as previously suggested to ask if they intend to renew the certification for the models you want. Hopefully they will and you'll be fine.

Yea I dont see them not renewing the G31 but the FN five seven I'm worried about. I'll have enough for it at that time but yea I'm hearing its not as big as a hit as others are.
