I like where this thread is heading. The people that own the XS big dot "LOVE IT" while those that don't own one "HATE IT"

While I have just the standard on my G19, I have the Big Dot on my shotgun and it works really well. Good enough to get consistent CoM hits on an IDPA target @ 100m with rifled slugs. Of course, I'm not saying that you can do that with a 9mm pistol w/Big Dot front sight .

Of course if everyone loved it, they'd probably own one too!

Right now I have two G19s. One has Trijicon Night Sights and the other has the standard Fixed Sights. I'm considering replacing the Fixed Sights for the XS Sights. Then I wanted to try both out on defensive situations and see which one I performed better with. From what I have read and heard is that the XS Sights are fast but couldn't decide on the front sight.

You don't have to own something to have experience with it. You have to use it. The big dot covers a lot of the target and the small dot allow you to see it which is a tactical advantage IMO. If your opinion differs than so be it. Just don't be such a douche.

My vote is to just get a regular set of sites. I have tried both the bigdots and standard and my experience with the two was that they were useless. Sure they will get you on target in a close encounter situation ( however no more than point shooting) but beyond 10 yards they are questionable. Spend your money how you wish but IMHO they are a gimmick.

I have both and prefer the BIG DOT

I always saw these things for pocket pistols and snub revolvers. I mean these dont look like precision sights obviously but the big dot at 10 yards or less would seem somewhat practical but even that close I'm sure a lot of us could point shoot well.
