    Is CLP all you need?

CLP - Cleans, Lubricates, and protects.

Is this all-in-one all you need?

From what I've read, you can get by with just a CLP. for average usage it will get the job done. However, there are products that are better cleaners, better lubricants, and better protectants.... just not all at once.

You will be fine with Hoppes 9 for getting the dirt off the different surfaces and to get the copper out of the bore. CLP works great as a lube which is all I use it for in my AR. For a lube all my other guns get Mobile 1 5-30 which is a bit thicker and lasts longer than CLP. None of this is necessary and if CLP is all you have that will work just fine.

For general cleaning yes.. I would still bust out the Hoppes every now and then to get rid of the heavy powder residue after decent amount of shooting. If you're running full-railed steel slide handgun, I'd recommend using grease for the rails.

That's all I use. But if I haven't cleaned any of my guns in a while then I use Hoppe's 9. Other then that, CLP is all I use.

Yes, for me, I use CLP for all cleaning and lubrication of my firearms.

I like spreading my money around to multiple companies:

Hoppes or Shooters Choice for barrel/cylinder scrubbing.
                    KG12 to get copper out.
Gun Scrubber to get gunk out of areas, surface cleaning slide and barrel.
                    Gun Butter for the slide.
Rem Oil for areas that doesn't get Gun Butter.
                    EEzox for protection against rust.

I use it quite a bit and have been very happy with it. Other product I use quite a bit are the Rem Oil wipes that come in little sealed packets. Lately I've also been adding grease to moving parts such as slides but I have no reason or issue that's driving me to do so.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.

I wouldn't use it in my bore (got MPro7 for that). Other than that, yes. I've since discovered Eezox. Better cleaner (you can also use it in your barrel), and it smells better, too. Still a big fan of Breakfree, though.

I go with the layered approach.

                          Hoppes #9 for initial soak/cleaning
Then, a layer of CLP and wipedown on exposed parts.
Finally, a couple dabs of Remi grease, and couple drops of gun oil in the moving parts.
Then, cycle, wipe, cycle, wipe, wipe, wipe, wipe.....load, rack, and secure.

I use synthetic safe gun scrubber to clean, rem oil or similar to lube, on all my firearms.

I wont put anything with teflon into a rifled barrel. Ask any barrel manufacture or precision rifle builder about it. Teflon adheres with heat. Since barrels do not heat up evenly, the teflon will end up building up in an uneven way which will ruin your barrel down the road. Yes, it can be removed but, it's cheaper to replace the barrel than remove the teflon. So, to answer your question, I need more than CLP.
