    Screwed...

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post, but I know you guys will have an answer.

I have a stainless combat commander. A relative brought me some fancy gold & silver grips from Mexico.
I need some "gold" screws to install them properly, the stock screws don't cut it visually.

Any suggestions? I'm in west LA.
    Thanks,

    Picasso

Since you're in LA, you could probably go to a shop that does finish jobs on rims. I know that most shops can do chrome plating on standard rims, so they probably do gold too. You could probably find one that will do it for $10-$20.

I've never seen gold-plated screws for 1911s tho. Maybe check online, at some custom 1911 builder's site.

Is gold plating a viable alternative...shouldn't cost much I would think. Screw heads are pretty small. Top flight jewelry store perhaps for plating?

Try the tin torx. Might consider stainless to match the frame instead of the grips themselves.

I was going to suggest a Jewelry store as well - they might have replacement parts on hand
