glock sights

Hey everyone. I have a glock19 with a new set of dawson precision sights. I think it may shoot a little low and to the left. The low part, I just need to get accustomed to the sights. But left? How can I ensure the rear sight is centered? And can I make any adjustments without a sight pusher? I am thinking a tiny c clamp from the hardware store would be able to move it. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend 140 on a tool for a fractional movement. And which way do I love the rear sight if it shoots left? If I am the shooter, looking towards the muzzle. Left or right? Thanks in advance!!

Before you shift anything, did you let others shoot it that have the same problem?

It can be just trigger control on your part.

Yeah, I asked two other great shooters take a stab and its the same thing. Slightly to the left.

low and left = new Glock shooter, make sure your grip and stance are correct.

Mix a couple dummy rounds into a full mag, and see if it is you flinching when pulling the trigger. You'll know if you are when you try to fire that dummy round.

IF it is the sights, where do you live? There may be someone in your area willing to loan you a pusher. You will need to move the sight the same direction that you want to shift your POI. Your shots are hitting left, so you will want to move the rear sight to the right.

I hate to say it but that is often the case. Not necessarily with new Glock shooters, but new right handed shooters in general.

Really? I know people that know you who think otherwise.

You might consider checking that attitude into a hotel and letting it stay on vacation for a while.

I'd take it back to the person who installed the sights and have them check their work.

Or, you can find someone in your area that will either help you do the work or loan the tool out so that you can do it yourself.

The snap caps idea is great and will tell for certain if you're pushing while breaking the shot.

I'm pretty certain it's not the sights but I'd be will to entertain the idea.

BTW, if you're in the San Diego area, I'd be happy to check it for you.

So I dropped by the range last night to shoot it while resting it on support. It does indeed shoot left. The rear sight seems a little off to the right. As someone mentioned above, I need to push the sight to the right more? Anyone in the Peninsula have a sight pusher willing to help me out?

How much finger are you putting on the trigger? You want to center the pad on the trigger, no more. And try relaxing your grip with your strong hand. Should look like this. Shooting from a bench is misleading, let someone else try your gun.

Try this target

This is a basic correction target for pistol. I found that I shoot to the left of center and that this target helped me. There many versions on the web, but they all convey the same basic info to correct your technique. Good luck!
