First.. Gen 4 is not on the roster. Second, Glock 21 Gen 4 is not out yet. There were some issues with the recoil spring in the Glock 17 Gen 4 but they have been fixed.Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.

Since the Gen 4 Glocks are new, you are not going to find more than anecdotal information on their reliability - the information just does not exist yet and it won't for several years, while Gen 3 have proven reliability.Comment

If roster is not your concern, get the Glock 21 SF RTF. The frame is shorter and more comfortable in the hand.Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.

Gen4 is just as reliable as the previous issues. A Glock is just a hammer, don't over think it.Comment

Sorry for the confusion Plisk, allow me to clarify
I do not question the reliability of the Gen 3 model, that has been proven
i am curious about the reliability of the Gen 4 and how it compares to the proven Gen 3 model
I guess ill be getting the gen 3 now and ill have wait for the g21 gen 4 to come out
for the models that have come out however, is the gen 4 as rugged and reliable as previous generations of glocksComment

Ive been debating about this too, put off handgun purchase when I bought shotgun over weekend, not sure if I should get a G23 o G21. 40 or 45. My only concern is availability of munitions, be it range to home defense rounds. I have shot a few 40 cal'd pistols before but not a glock, I def didn't like them to much. But the stopping power is there, and I believe last time I checked at big 5 and such, 40 is cheaper than 45? Anyone chime in on this? Sorry to threadjack! Just was digging around for info on G21 and found here, I have till tomorrow afternoon to make up my mind since it will be the only free time I have until I have to pick it up, any help or insight into ammo cost and such, and or which iho should be used by a barely 90 pound woman would be appreciated. I originally was going to go with the Glock19. But want a tad bit more stopping power.Comment

I'd stick with a 3rd Gen until the iron out all the bugs of the 4th Gen personallyMy opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.Comment
