    Mag release question

I got my PX4 a few days ago and have been out once with it. I absolutely love it so far. Only thing that is kinda bugging me is the mag release. I was practicing a lot of reloading today, trying to always keep the gun pointed towards my target. The checkering on the mag release is very abrasive and is irritating my thumb quite a bit. The only way I can use it without irritation is to slightly turn the gun to the right in my grip hand so that a different part of my thumb is engaging the release. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain or can I just expect to develop a callus? It's not a huge deal at all, just a little curious. Thanks.

I was considering that actually. It has a sand paper like texture so it just wears on the skin. I like that they're trying to make it slip proof but it's a little too abrasive to my liking.

I took my SW40VE to a belt sander... the mag release stuck out so far and was so abrasive that my trigger finger poked and grinded it hard after every shot.

It's not like I could resell that thing anyway

But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding." -Thomas Jefferson

I think the problem is multiplied by how stiff the mag release is right now. I'm going to give it a few weeks to see if it loosens up. If it's easier to depress the grip won't feel as abrasive. If I'm still having trouble then I'll grab some sand paper.
