    1911 extended ejector

Is it me or do I have a problem with my 1911 extended ejector not being flush with the slide? It is push in about 5mm inward.

which brand 1911, some have a better fit tolerance than others

Ideally, I'd except the back of the rails, back of the extractor and back of the ejector to all be flush with the back of the slide, but that isn't very common until you get above the mid-priced 1911s

The location of the rear end of the ejector is just cosmetic. The ejector has two posts that locate it in the frame, the ejector should be solid in the frame.

It is a Remington 1911 R1. I except the same tolerance on my 1911s too. I also expect the rail slide to be all flush correctly. For some reason, I could've sworn it was totally flush until my friend handle it today.

Since the ejector fits on two posts, does these posts move? And will a 1911 smith be able to fit a better fitted extended ejector for me?

Yes, I want this Remington R1 to be a nice looking 1911, because I haven't own a true single stack since I traded my old Combat Commander for a Ruger Mini 30........."I know it was a bad move but seems so good at the time."

Aftermarket ejectors are usually made longer at the back so you can file them down to match your slide.
