Question about Selling a handgun via PPT

I have a curious question that I have not found answered via the wiki or the forum and would like an answer from someone who knows.

I've recently moved to california with my firearms, one of which is a Keltec P11. The keltec was my carry gun in the state I moved from but since I will not be carrying here and it isn't a whole lot of fun to shoot recreationally, I'd prefer to sell it.

I have a California Drivers License, but the gun has not yet been registered to the California DOJ. I know that legally you cannot bring a gun into the state intending to sell it, but that is not how it occurred. Can I sell the gun via PPT without first registering it to CADOJ? If not is it possible to simply ship it to an FFL as an out of state purchase or does that end up violating the roster laws?

    Any help would be appreciated.

yes you can. The PC alows for you to register as a personal handgun importer OR sell it to another CA resident in a PPT transfer.

if it is off-roster, you cant ship it to any dealer in CA to be transfered to the buyer without triggering the roster requirements.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

So I can sell it without having to register it into my name first? That'd be a huge hassle off my shoulders.

12072(f)(2)(A) On or after January 1, 1998, within 60 days of bringing a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person into this state, a personal handgun importer shall do one of the following:
          (i) Forward by prepaid mail or deliver in person to the Department of Justice, a report prescribed by the department including information concerning that individual and a description of the firearm in question.
(ii) Sell or transfer the firearm in accordance with the provisions of subdivision (d) or in accordance with the provisions of an exemption from subdivision (d).
(iii) Sell or transfer the firearm to a dealer licensed pursuant to Section 12071.
(iv) Sell or transfer the firearm to a sheriff or police department.
12072(f)(2)(ii) is where it says that you can sell it instead of register it.

Its more the time wait. Last I heard is that it takes nearly 6 weeks for the paperwork to come back.
