RockRiver Piston Driven AR Pistol: Same routine as any other AR pistol?

Hi,

Just checking to see if getting the Rock River Piston Driven AR Pistol is the same as getting any other AR pistol.

I am guessing it has to come to the FFL, install a bullet button and Bob Sled single-shot magazine, and then DROS it as a Single-Shot pistol.

Does anyone know of an FFL in LA County that will let the buyer borrow some counter space to install the BB and single-shot mag him/her-self?

Do you think that "Operator Safety Flange" is considered a forward grip or a barrel shroud?

Nice! Was never a fan of the bare buffer tube that stuck out on the regular AR15 pistols...this looks so much better. I also notice it has a front charging lever, nice touch on RRA part.

No FFL in California can do that legally. Unlike a OLRifle, a single shot pistol must enter the state as a "functioning" single shot pistol. They can not come in as a regular pistol and then be converted.

You have to hold the pistol from somewhere, I believe the problem would be if it were a VERTICAL forward grip. If it would be considered a forward vertical grip this would not be advertised as a pistol but rather an SBR.

You will not be able to convert it on borrowed counter space right there in the receiving FFL's shop. An 07 FFL holder (licensed manufacturer) may be able to convert it for you. If there are no 07 FFLs near you who can/are willing to do so, you'll have to find and out-of-state middleman FFL to receive your pistol, do the conversion, and send it to your CA FFL. As far as the remainder of the purchasing process goes, it's the same as any other handgun once it has been converted with a BB and single-shot sled.

I know bushmaster isnt very CA friendly, but if single bob sledded and BB installed would a Bushmaster carbon pistol be kosher?
