glutton for punishment- g17 2nd gen?

ok, ive had a couple glocks before, and couldnt see the advantage over a hammered pistol design. i also dont like finger grooves on a pistol. but i think im ready to try the glock again, as my income:debt ratio is too close to 1:1 for my habit of blasting my 1911 and hk's every weekend. i need a 9mm, and i want to try out a second gen glock. did i mention i friggin HATE the finger grooves on the gen 3's? because i do.

so here is my plea- does anyone in the san diego area have a gen 2 glock that i can test drive? i can match round for round with my handguns, usp's in .40 and .45, or a kimber pro carry in .45..... and also, i searched the site via google a couple days ago, and came up dry on gen 2's.. if someone has a gen 2 glock rotting in the back of a safe somewhere, and wouldnt be too sad to see it go... mind you- money is too tight to finance an upgrade to a gen 3 for my potential seller, but could be a good stepping stone in that direction....
    thanks for the help, y'all!

Gen 2 9mm Glocks are going to be fairly difficult to find. They have been bought up. What you will find is a butt load of Gen 2 model 22s. If you are hard up for one you can test drive mine if you are visiting NorCal.

grind the finger grooves down on a gen3 like everyone else does

Also the finger groove spacing is different on the 17 vs the 19. The 17 fits my fingers fine, the 19 is uncomfortable to me.

Thanks for the insight. Ill give the gen3 a test run at the range, and toy with the idea of modification...

Here's a good link, in case you want to extensively mod-up a Glock frame:
