I think it has to do with it uses the series I slide with passive safety only. Not a safe gun according to CADOJ.

I've been waiting for it to get on but now it sounds like it won't. From the 1911 forum, it soulds like it is a very reliable Kimber. Also from that forum, it sounds like people are having issues with their kimbers. Maybe not a lot but it seems more than usual for a gun manufacturer.

It's not on the list because it hasn't been submitted. As mentioned above, there are plenty of "non-firing-pin-safety" 1911's on the approved list, including all the Baers and some of the Springfields among others.

According to my kimber rep it wont be coming to CA.

This is a series 70 gun and as built won't pass the safety test.

Umm... isn't the fact that the gun exists an admission that the Series II safety is unnecessary? It has no S2 safety as it is.

I'm so pissed, I really wanted to get their limited edition Team Match model, but it's not "safe" enough for Kalifornistan.

Of course it's unnecessary, if you look at it from a wide perspective. Kimber is saying it's necessary in order to pass a drop test, which is BS.

New DOJ approved Warrior has firing pin Safety.That is the only difference between the ones in and out of CA.

Well from what I have heard from some competition shooters is that when your hand rides high on the grip safety the chance of the firing pin safety being disengaged all the time is not great.

Other than that nothing is wrong with it as long as it work all the time.
