I live in San Francisco, and I'm trying to get a handgun before they succeed in banning them. (I know someone who works at the City Attorney Office, and he is pretty sure that they want to open the case again).
Anyway, I have decided on a Rock Island Armory 1911, most likely the GI, for my first handgun (just turned alcohol/ gambling/ handgun legal

The problem is that most stores I have seen sell the GI model for almost $500, before tax and fees.
I know that the gun retails for around $350, so I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a shop that sells most of their inventory at, say, ImpactGuns.com prices. I would like to pay $500, at most $550, out the door for an RIA GI. The store should be within the Bay Area, or even Sacramento area.
On a side note, I was curious which part of the pistol has to be FFL'd, since I was planning later on to buy a Wilson combat aluminum lower and match 6" barrel.
