I would hope none of you would shop there again if what is alleged in that report turns out to be true...

Ya I have a buddy who lives in modesto and he said that his wife is going to re-open the shop, its a shame he did that I knew the owner he was a cool guy. Obviously a little to cool. My buddy said he used to sell handguns under the table as well, that he even told my friend to come back after closing and when he did he offered to sell my buddy a Glock 19 out right for $500 with no paperwork but luckily my friend declined, mr ronning is looking at some very hard time, all I can say is, Sucks for him! lol

Does any1 know specifically what kind of guns he sold? I know it was 7 assault weapons and a machine gun but does any1 know what kind? Also how the hell did he get a hold of them if his shop is in Californistan?

Right there is on reason why is where he is he breaks the law.

I went in there a few time's the prices seemed a little high.I just shop at alguist now and for a place to rent pistol's and shoot I use gun runners in Merced it is a good place to.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

It's stupid of him but it still doesn't make sense why this guy would invite such scrutiny by getting his FFL in the first place if he was willing to sell a few glocks out the back door....

There is an eviction notice on the door now. Looks like they have not paid rent since March. I don't think it is going to reopen.

the only thing that i like about ronnings is that it had a indoor gun range, from what i know the only one in modesto. i was hoping that somebody else would buy the facility and make the place better........but other than that, i never stepped foot in that place......and its a good thing that i never did

Holy crap, that's insane! I was just there this morning too for a pickup! Someone driving a pickup truck and wearing sunglasses and a goatee walked up to me in front of the store and asked if they were closed. I said "I dunno but I see people inside" and he said "interesting....." and walked away. Was that one of you guys?!?

Anyways the front door was locked, but I still saw people moving around inside. I waited for a minute and eventually a nice older gentleman opened the door for me and basically told me that I had to come back another time. Thankfully one of the employees inside must have overheard that I was coming for a pickup and let me get my rifle before they sent me away.

That would have sucked since I live in Fresno and it's a 1 hr 40min drive each way.

I went by to use the Ronning Arms range at about 5.45pm today. There was a large 18-wheel moving truck parked in front of the shop and carboard in the windows. The door was open but the place was being cleared out. One of the people there confirmed,"They're closed."

Barnwood Arms in Ripon has a notice in their shop saying Barnwood will honor Ronning Arms shooting range memberships through the end of October 2010. I did not know Ronning Arms offered any memberships.
