    kimber super match

I shot a kimber super match that some guy had a couple months ago at the range and I loved it, its beautiful it shot great it felt great and I inspected it completely, its a series 70!!

So I sold my kimber custom 2 recently because I needed some money, and of course I am already thinkin of gettin another 1911 and I thought about the super match I shot. I looked it up and wow!!! its a 2000$ 1911 lol I didnt expect it to be that much.

I liked the custom 2 price alot better than the super matches, but for my next
1911 I want to step it up a lil from the custom 2, so is the super match worth that? can I find a cheaper one? a used one? should I maybe look into a different brand 1911? thanks
I wanted to invent an engine that could run for ever. I could have developed a new train, had I stayed in the railway. It would have looked like the AK-47 though. MIKHAIL KALASHNIKOV

They will range from 1800 to 2200 on gunbroker. Some people need money and you can get a good deal. Advertising in wanted helps too.

I own a super match. I had way more FTE/FTF then I should have from a $2k pistol (about 1 to 2 per 100 rds.) I sent it to a well known gunsmith who had to re-cut the feedramp, and re-fit the barrel. he said it was "way off". Maybe I just got a bad one that slipped QC.

If I had it to do over, I would get a stock springfield for $800, and have a gunsmith tune and build it with the parts I pick for the same amount of money.

To be fair to Kimber, I also have a CDP that runs like a champ. In fact, it was the reason I bought the Super Match.

I feel that once you hit about $1500, your cost is not in proportion to the extra work put into a 1911, unless you're talking about some unusual feature like a 2011 style double stack magazine.

I had good luck with a Raptor, but replaced it with one of those oddball 2011s, so it's on the chopping block due to lack of use.

I dunno, when you spend past $1500, your gun shouldn't have Kimber on the slide. That is LB and used NH, WC, and EB terrirtory.

I disagree for the super match only. Kimber are factory custom, but will never parallel with the true custom jobs, which routinely start over $2,000.

I own a SuperMatch, which have been flawless and shoots great, but if I was to do it over again I'd buy a Les Baer TRS in that price range.
