Glock slide question...

Fired some rounds through the new Glock 30/.45 today -

Suprising how little recoil it has - Even with hotter loads.

(My first sidearm in a loooooooong time and first semi-auto ever.)

Performed great - Zero issues - Until I cleaned it.

I didnt strip it all the way down since its not really that dirty.

Pulled the slide off and cleaned everything up -

And thats where I'm stuck.

When trying to reinstall the slide (remember I did not disassemble it) -

It gets to within a 1/2 inch of seating when the recoil spring assembly hangs up.

If I push it further the assembly pushes the pin out.

I searched a few Glock sites and didnt find anything -

So I need someone to say "Hey dumbass - This is what you are doing wrong..."

Make sure that recoil spring is seated all the way down. There are two notches on the Glock barrel where the recoil spring can sit. It should be on the one closest to the barrel.

Is the spring in the crescent shaped groove or the one above it?

I would take the spring off and put it on again to make sure it is seated properly.

Check your manual, it should be easy.

Make sure you seat the guide rod/spring in the most taught position at which the spring is the most compressed when the guide rod is in contact with the lowest position of the barrel.

Also when you go to mate the slide and frame back together are you sure you're sliding the frame into the slide properly?

Seat the rear of the spring to the notch on the bottom of the barrel lug and put the slide back on.

You guys nailed it - The spring assembly was on the upper slot -

Moved it to the lower slot and it slid right together.
