      I have been to some of the others mentioned with acceptable results, but for my money you can't beat Alan Tanaka. He is also a member of the American Pistol Smith Guild (I think that is right). He has done work to my 1911's and is now working on one of my wheelguns.

      When you watch him inspect and take apart your pistol, you quickly realize the vast amount of knowledge he has and that he is very committed to making your pistol function in the best possible way. He will not try to upsell you on anything.
