Light/laser combos

Looking at different light/laser combos for my G30/.45 -

I think its narrowed down to the Insight model based on the comparison in the G&A article -

But wanted to see if anyone else has had a good/bad experience with this setup -

Or wanted to suggest another...

Don't know much about them, but I looked at the pic online. I was wondering why they put the laser further away from the barrel (as opposed to closer). Seems like you would want it as close to the barrel as possible...

dont waste your money on a laser, cause you wont need it and it makes the unit cost 2-3 times more. just get a light. I know blackhalk makes the xiphos or something like that and im looking into getting one for my 1911 since its compatable with their level 2 holsters. I would also recommend a TLR-1 or the TLR-3 (compact).
