Anyone had this issue with a CZ???

Yeah, I know. Next to the venerable 1911, and maybe the BHP, the CZ 75 is the best thing to be invented since cheez whiz. And for that reason (and because of the ability to carry cocked and locked) I was looking at buying one. So I went down to the local gun dealer and checked one out. When I held it what I found surprised me because one of the things people always like about it are the ergos. When I hold it in a normal shooting grip, my trigger finger barely reaches the trigger. In order to have the first finger joint on the trigger I have to adjust my grip. And then when I do, the tip of my finger has trouble fitting in between the trigger and the front of the trigger guard. I thought this was really strange.

Now to be fair, this model was a 75BD- decocker so it's not the one I would buy anyway, but it is supposed to be the same except for the decocker right? Does anyone know if they are all like this or if it's just that model???

I find that the trigger is a bit far for my hands as well. If it were shorter, I would probably be shooting one right now. Check out the SP-01 though. That has a trigger much closer to the grip.

Oh yeah, the funny thing is, I don't have particularly small hands either. They're not huge but I would definitely say on the larger side...

Not sure about the 75B, but I have a P-01. It is like that too for double action trigger pull, but once it is racked or slide dropped to chamber a round the single action trigger pull is much farther back towards the grip.

Was the hammer all the way down or was it in half-cock mode?

With the hammer 100% down, in a complete resting position, the trigger is very far forward on CZs. But when you load it and subsequently decock it, the actual trigger doesn't move but the trigger breaking point moves back. So when I take my P01 and decock it to the half-cock position, the trigger has about a half-inch of "dead space" and as soon as I put my finger on the trigger, it moves back effortlessly about a half-inch. That helps with the trigger reach.

Huh, I have a pair small hand and I don't have any problem with reaching for the trigger. If a gun doesn't fit you, it doesn't fit you. Move on for something else (ie: BHP).

CZ custom shop have few trigger setting that might help but I personally won't bother. CZ are nice, but so are many other pistol manufacturers out there.

I helda P01 at a shop and no problems reaching the trigger. I would say my hands are on the smaller side.

You might want to look at the flat aluminum grip plates put out by CZ Custom. That will allow your trigger finger to move further forward.

The DA trigger reach is long on CZ's.
