    Black Stainless

    Hello,

I have a Springfield XD40 bitone (stainless) which I've been thinking to have refinished to a "Black Stainless" (or whatever it's called) finish. Is this possible and about how much would this cost?

    Thanks ladies and gents!!

Yes, it is very possible and common these days. Rich at Canyon Creek can help you...

Click on the picture of the XD (which BTW, has the finish you are looking for). He calls it a "Fusion" finish and it runs $100-$140 for the slide refinish. He uses a process that makes it an extremely durable finish. Give him a buzz.

Just for comparative...springfied custom charges $175 for the stainless/back finish, but that is for a 1911 - slide and frame.
