Costa Mesa gun show

was a goog show. Bought 2k rounds of 9mm ammo from LAX. This was only my 2nd show & it was way bigger then Delmar. Met some Calgun members @ the booth. It was a good day!

Went yesterday slightly disappointed since they didn't have anything for me there, but might go back later today to give it one more chance.

I guess it was mainly because all I needed were mags, and they were all charging double what they were normally worth there.

$14 to enter, $5 for preferred parking, unless you parked in the corner lot, which is free, but quite a walk.

Did you see anyone selling old USGI issue parts for M1 Garands, Carbines or 1903 Springfields? I am primarily looking for parts from the old guys who have their parts in plastic bins and make up the prices as they go along.

Might be interested in some of the those $22/1000 CCI primers I heard about in another thread as well. Reloading components if great prices but otherwise I will pass.

I don't know if there were guys selling just parts, but there were a few guys with booths there who had old guns such as M1 carbines/garands for sale.

Mac Attack in the south east building there was a guy who was selling what I think you are looking for. I saw labels on rows of old parts that said M1, Springfield and Carbine. I hope this is what your looking for. Redhemi

Be sure to negotiate prices with this guy, he will over charge without blinking an eye. I tried to buy a Tommy buttstock from him one time, he wanted $200 for a stripped one. I bought ten on line from e-gun parts for $2 each, same item / condition.

it was a great gun show. I got me 1k 9mm and an FNP-9 (pricematched impactguns.com), some cleaning stuff and a few 50 cal ammo boxes. There were soooo many m1a's and m14's I wanted. I had a crisis when I saw the .338 lapua booth with 5 massive sniper rifles hanging out there.

A dealer tried to sell me an od green magpul magwell grip because it matched my shirt. I nearly bought it from him just because he tried so hard. I didn't only because I don't have an AR.

The other thing I drooled over was a carbon R700. looked so awesome.

I like to go too look around and get some jerky and spices for cooking on my BBQ. O yeah, they have gun stuff too!!!

I didn't get to go this weekend, in the process of moving and money is tighter than a gnats ***!

Nice show. I picked up a few things which I wanted. I got there at 1:00 and there was no one checking for priority parking so I was able to park close even though I only paid for general parking. By the time I made it to the second building, some of the vendor's were already packing up at 3 pm. I decided I had better get through the rest of the buildings before the tables all closed out. I saw a lot of people with cases and cases of ammo. The last time I went to the show at OC fairgrounds was in 2008 and ammo was selling hot and prices were high. This time I felt prices were not too bad. I saw a case of 500 rounds of Wolf .223 for $115. I do not buy factory ammo but felt this was a good deal for those that do.

I also saw lots and lots of black rifles and accessories. I would go so far as to say that nearly 50 - 60% of the tables had AR rifles and accessories. The one rifle I was drooling over was a M1D Garand with scope, leather cheek pad and other M1D accessories for $2000. The price for a USGI M1D from the CMP lists at $1500 and that's without the scope, mount and accessories I believe so $2k for this rifle is a fair price. Too much for me but it was the only rifle that really peaked my interest.

Overall nice show.

I saw that Garand with scope too. That thing was super sexxy. As soon as I saw 2k for it haha I just kept on walking.

One thing I just recalled from the show. I was on the lookout for an Inland M1 Carbine stock and handguard. I saw one at the SOG table. It was a nice stock, had no metal including the handguard, and had your typical dings and dents from service. When I inquired about the stock, the lady said it was four twenty five. I had to ask her if she said $425 and she said yes. I told her that I bought my original Inland Carbine for just a little more than she was asking for just the stock. She said Inland Carbine stocks are hard to come by and this one is special because of the high wood....blah blah blah. I walked away in disbelieve at what some people price their items at and ended up at a table one row over from SOG that had an Inland stock and handguard with metal for $45! I should have bought it and went back to SOG and asked them if they wanted to buy it for $300! What a joke.

I also saw a guy at a table full of handguns who slingshot the slide of a new 1911 with a lot of force. So much so that it caught my attention as I was walking by. The owner of the table walked over and said, "why did you have to do that to my gun?" pretty politely. I would have been pissed as ***** had it been my gun. Freaken newbies.

I was there...Has anyone noticed as the years go on, there is less and less gun stuff, more rude attitudes, more "gangsters" asking if there are full automatics with 30 round "clips"?
