10 day wait aint no joke!

I always laughed at all those "10 day wait" threads saying that members get too emotional and its just 10 measly days.

After buying my first pistol yesterday, a mac clone (MPA30SST) for $479 which I thought was one hell of a deal btw, never before have I been so anxious about a firearm.

This will be my 9th firearm with the previous 8 being long guns. I guess because since it's my first pistol I am now itching to get my hands on my new acquisition. I guess in the meantime I'll just pass the time browsing for accessories online.

Yup... not to mention the stores are by law required to follow the 10 day rule down to the minute. I've been in a situation where I was literally just waiting for the last minute to pass (waited in my car, didn't want to put the store employee in a situation where he felt he had to compromise).

First is def the hardest. I don't even own that many, but I'm already at the point where even a day or two extra doesn't affect me one bit.

The 10-day wait is an infringement of American's rights. So it's OK to have a problem with it besides being impatient.

Yep, it sucks. After a while it becomes very clear it is all about collecting a fee (and to a smaller degree public perception) and has nothing to do with a cool down period. Someone who already has a registered handgun in their name does not need a cool down period. If they were going to flip out they could use the gun they already own. A smarter, more efficient, less intrusive system could easily be devised. However, it would result in less money being collected for the state. So it will never happen.

Yup, that became apparent on my second handgun. I remember thinking, "wait.. I get to wait 10 days again? but I already own a firearm.. I suppose if I wanted to flip out in style and have a gun in each hand... then this 10 day will give me time to cool down....."

Tell me about it, I have 7 more hours to wait for another new to me 'toy'.

I just happen to have the day off work by coincidence. Last night thought I was going to be @ the range in this AM playing with the new toy, while it was cooler.

Good think I called the FFL to confirm my pickup date & time. tic toc tic toc

Yep, DOJ is doing lots of audit on the 10 days rule...got a Ruger SP101 and Desert Eagle (PPT) waiting for me...8 more days.

All of the stores around me count the ten days starting the time that the store opens the morning AFTER your purchase.
