    Is it legal to have a loaded gun with one in the pipe and 10 in the mag?

      Yep provided you are in an area legal to have a loaded gun to begin with.

          yes it is legal. You're just limited to a 10 round magazine, not 10 rounds total.

                              No one is limited to using a 10 round magazine unless they don't have +10 round mags or would be manufacturing an AW by using one. I have plenty of +10 round mags that are legal for me to use.
