    Range Report SIG P6/P225

YIKES! I shot MY SIG P6/P225 last night. My first SIG BTW.
So now I see why SIG has such a loyal following.

I went to La Puente firing range last night with 500 rounds of Wally mart Winchester white box, 115 graing FMJ.
After I shot out the bulls eye on the target I stuck a buch of those orange circles (3" circles I think) and just started turning them into ragged holes!

I found I shoot this pistol more accuratley using the "old school" one handed method, rather than weaver and such. I fits my hand like a perfectly. No need to re-adjust your grip/hold . I pull up and the sights are aligned on target. Interesting. With Weaver stance it tended to shoot a little low. One handed it hit the X ...

Function was 100%. Accuracy was the best of any auto pistol I have ever tried except for a few "custom" 1911s that could only shoot recoiless pipsqeek loads.

I luv it. A lot. I want to name my children after it

The 225 is a very sweet pistol. Congrats on your first Sig. Be very careful...they tend to multiply very quickly!

If it is shooting low with weaver, but dead-on one-handed, you're either anticipating the shot, or your support hand is pulling down/tightening your grip.

              Snap caps anyone.

I love using these things when I go with someone else to the range. The other person loads some random amount of snap-caps and then you get to see how much you are anticipating or just not squeezing the trigger.

They have really improved my shooting ability.

              I've never understood the self-confessors....

+1 Haha. I started with one Sig P225 (P6) and now it has one brother the P220 and on about 4 days I'm going to dros my P226 waiting at my FFL. :-) they are more addicting than ... I can't think of anything funny... Dang it... But yeah you get the point. My P225 is scray accurate and it's pretty much all original from 01/83. My P220 is just as accurate :-P.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience with your P225.
