I think it is called "the kitti - fication of America" -- How is it a "partner" can be a dictator? The woman's lib joke that men are like busses "another will be along in a few minutes" works both ways.

I suggest working it out with her such that both of you are satisfied with you having a gun in the house. Notice I did not say "try to work it out". If you can't work this out then you can prepare yourself for bigger troubles in the future.

My wife hates guns and I love guns but we get along just fine. She knows I keep them locked securely and doesn't have issue with it. She trusts me.

Owning a gun but not keeping it were you live doesn't make any sense to me.

The old saying "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." is definitely right on target.
You should have just bought yourself a gun and when she found out/got mad and informed you her position on guns you could have just said "Sorry, I didn't know, but I already bought it and you can't return guns."
I would leave out the I'm SORRY part! No need to appolgise when you didn't do anything wrong.

It might be possible to have a female gun owner / trainer talk to her. Sometimes that male vs female thing will just get in the way. I know that when I go through the effort of attempting to show her technique on racking some guns with which she has difficulty it can get slightly testy. Have her down to the gun shop with the one of the ladies behind the counter and that testy feature disappears.

I'm lucky that I don't have a wife that disapproves. Half the guns in the house are hers. It does get expensive - You got one, I get one type of thing.
Send Lawyers, Guns and Money - On second thought, hold the Lawyers.

I’m sure someone has said this already but why own one if you can’t take it home? Why not just rent when you go to the range?
-Guide: "if your gonna try and shoot a bear with that thing you better file down the front sight."
-Hunter: "why, so i get a quicker draw from my holster?"
-Guide: "no, so it will hurt a little less when the bear takes it from you and shoves it up your *****!"

does anyone know anything about this?
              thanks

i'm not sure how that works or if it even works in CA. i heard you could do that in AZ.
Sure, lots of indoor ranges rent out lockers for pistols.

I like buying guns and renting women.

                Just sayin'...

Storing your guns OUTSIDE your home will not prevent your wife from getting raped by the psycho that came uninvited!

                    Ok I'll Chime in

Since you already asked before you bought.
                    She said NO

First off as long as your talking to your wife......
find out why she does not like a gun?
what the problem with a gun in the house for protection is?

If she is dead set against you having one.

I see no need to spend the money to rent a locker, just go to the range, rent a gun and shoot.

Here is what I would do....
Buy a good fire rated safe for your valuables Mad Money, coins, Jewelery and OR Important papers.
save room in the safe for that pistol in the hard case
buy a safe bigger than you think you need becuase they fill up quickly.
