Hi,
It's been a while since I've visited here...
I've got a Taurus 608 that has a sticky spring on the cylinder stop plunger. Most of the time this isn't a problem, but if the gun gets no love for a while, or if it gets a bit grungy, the spring gets a bit reluctant in pushing the cylinder stop plunger back into place. When it acts up (which it's done at the range before), the cylinder doesn't stop in the right place, and at best it just goes click. I dread what might happen if it's off just enough for the firing pin to hit the primer, but the cylinder isn't quite lined up with the barrel.
I'm planning on calling Taurus tomorrow to order another one, and I'd also like to get a couple of spares from Brownell's since the plunger is fine, it's just the spring that acts up. If I keep a spring or two on hand, Murphy's law will kick in and it won't act up again because it would not be inconvenient to replace the spring
There are three stop springs listed on Brownell's and I'm not sure which one would be appropriate for the Taurus. One I can eliminate right away, and I'm left with one of these two:
It's Part #12 on page 25 in their revolver manual at http://www.taurususa.com/pdf/revolver-manual.pdf
Any suggestions?
Thanks for looking
