    Beretta Compact L

I saw one for sale today at a local gun shop, and I was contemplating purchasing it. I wanted to know two things about it, however. First, where does one get magazines for it? I can't seem to find any anywhere, and I don't want to use normal 92 magazines, at least not without grip sleeves (which I can't find anywhere either).

My second question is, I read somewhere that the Beretta 92F or G (I think it was) could be modified to be safety only, with no decocker. So dropping the safety would physically block the hammer from striking the firing pin, with no decocking function. I believe it involved just grinding away a small part that could be easily replaced, but I just wanted to confirm this one with those more knowledgeable about such things.

And I finally got my HSC today!!!

I did a little further research on this, and it looks like what I would need to do is grind off the pin that protrudes from under the slide when the safety/decocker is turned downwards (on). It wouldn't be a permanent change, as a new pin could be easily replaced to convert it back. Does this work for a Beretta 92 Compact L, or is that the D or G series 92's and 96's only?

Beretta USA has mags for the 96 compact (40 SW) on clearance:

I've heard that the 9mm and 40 mags are interchangeable in the Beretta, though I haven't tried it myself. As a bonus, if you used it for 9mm, you would likely get >10 capacity legally.

Just to be clear, you are mentioning the 13 rd Compact L, and not the Compact L Type M which is a single stack 8 round correct?

Hate to be impolite by mentioning another forum, but I would really doublecheck this question by searching on the Beretta Forum if that was a key to you purchasing this weapon.

I believe the answer is no you can't. You can do it on the PX4 for sure, but I am pretty sure I read a very recent thread where a guy named WAL who is known for his Beretta modifications saying he thinks he may have a finally come up with a solution.

Hmm thank you. I checked over at the Firing Line, there were two folks who had turned their Beretta's into SAO allowing cocked and locked. Although I am unsure if they added a frame safety to accomplish that. And yes, I am referring to the 13rd Compact, not the type M.
