    Bersa Thunder?

Any opinions on Bersa Thunder in say .380 (7+1)?

I've had one for about 8 years. It's been dependable with about 1500 rounds through it. It's not my favorite pistol and if I was looking for a new ccw gun I would look elsewhere. Also with the stock grips it hurts my hand more than any other handgun I've shoot after about 30 rounds. I can shoot my g22 all day and it doesn't come close to inflicting the same punishment on my hand.

I've only shot a friend's. Nice little gun, accurate too. Agree with the poster above. Recoil is manageable, but I wouldn't pick up a 380 straight blowback pistol as something to have fun with at the range.

I had one a few years ago but I ended up selling it.

Nice and reliable 380 for a good price. However, many other options in 9mm ccw's in compact size if they are in your budget.

I had one for a couple years, but ended up selling it to my dad. Kinda regret it, kinda don't.

It was very much worth it for 250 plus tax and dros. I find myself in a position to buy another handgun now, and I'm finding them all over for around $300.00.

It'd be an easy purchase, with a known quality, but I find myself wanting to go for "more gun". Not sure why.

I could easily get a ruger p95 for about 100 more, or a sigma. Go up 130 more, and i'm into a RIA .45.

            hmmm...

Interesting. I have a g22 too (with the rough textured grip). After about 50 or so rounds of range time my palm can get a bit sore. The g22 is a bit much to just stick in my pocket, but it fits the bill as an anti-invasion tool though. I'm thinking the Thunder 380 is small enough for concealment but still has enough whack without breaking the piggy bank.

I've owned the Bersa .380 for a couple of years now. No complaints at all. Nothing under the $300 mark even comes close. It's accurate, reliable, and feels good in my hand. The recoil is almost non-existent for me.
I think of the Bersa as the compact back-up to the other handguns I own in .38, .357 mag, and .45acp. I wanted something that would slide into my front pocket. It does.
As others have said, the 9mm is a better caliber. You have lots of choices in 9mm for more $. If you choose the .380, I recommend Cor-Bon JHP as your HD ammo. The ballistics are pretty impressive in this caliber.
                    Good luck.

I found it to have a nice single-action, and dont have anything against it. This being said however, there are better .380s out there such as the PPK and the Kahr p380. I have not had a change to shoot the new Sig p238. IMHO

I bought a duotone T380 about a year ago...shot about 400-500 rounds through it and never had a problem...it takes some time to get them reliable so don't expect to have reliable feeding with hollowpoints until you have put about 200-300 through it. They can be just a little picky about ammo but most of the FMJ ammo runs fine and only a very few hollow points can be a problem...don't shoot any steel case ammo as it can tear up the feed ramp. One thing that they have had problems with is a disconnect spring. I used to read the Bersa chat board and there were lots of problems with the disconnect spring..There is a fix for it and the Bersa has a lifetime guarantee (for the original owner only) and they fix them right up. I shoot mostly CZ's and sold it so that I could pick up a CZ 83 in 380 which is .... in my opinion a way better pistol for not too much more money..The Bersa, like any small blow back pistol can have a little bit of a snap recoil that can be unpleasant. I shoot the CZ 380 and also a couple of Makarov's in 9mm Mak that are small blow back and with a heavier recoil spring they are very tame...there was not a heavier recoil spring for the Bersa that I'm aware of.
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.
