    selling standard cap mag

By "standard cap" I mean "high cap" but I don't like to call them high cap. Californians are just limited to "reduced cap" mags! Hahahah! Anyhow, can I legally sell "standard cap" mags to someone who's LE? Or am I stuck with a bunch of G17 mags with no G17?!?!?!?

Find a dealer that has a Hi cap endorsemnt and ask them how to do it.

    Good luck
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

FYI, please don't send me offers to sell them as "parts kits" I'm not trying to pull some shady deal. I don't/won't break the law, so don't ask me to. Thanks.

        Why?

Used G17 mags aren't worth that much - maybe $15 each - and once you sell them they are gone forever. Why would you do this? Just buy a G17 and put them to good use.

In answer to your question, yes you can sell them to LEO's

You can also sell them as parts kits, and not be shady or contribute to breaking any laws.

              Totally true.

However, I would just keep them. They aren't worth anything special. All LEOs in CA, and anyone outside CA can get them for $15-$17 for new FML versions. Just put them in a box, just in case you decide to get another Glock in the future. I'm sure that if you need the money there's stuff with more value laying around that you don't use.

To answer your question: You could sell them to a dealer with a high-cap magazine license, you could sell them to any LEO or LE organization directly, or you could sell them out of state.

But the best bet would be to keep them. You aren't going to get much money for them, and once they're gone, they're gone forever.

You guys are right, I guess I'll just keep them! It did break my heart getting rid of my 17, hopefully I'll replace it one day!

You never know. There are other guns (carbines) that may take G17 mags.

And if for some reason another Fed mag ban came down the pike (very unlikely given politics envisioned for the next 5 years) you'd have something.

Many of us bought hicap mags in 1999 for guns we didn't/don't even own yet.

Altho I would like to say that "selling" to LE is ok...

Yet according to PC 12020 (A)(2)

12020. (a) Any person in this state who does any of the following
is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year
                      or in the state prison:
                      (1) ......
                      (2) Commencing January 1, 2000, manufactures or causes to be
manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or
exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity
                      magazine.
Just the "offers for sale" may lead you to violation of the above.... ie. before you can verify the ID of the person you are trying to sell to....

It is MUCH safer to break your parts up and sell them as "parts"..... and if you are not comfortable... then sell them as parts to LE only.... then you have you as-s well covered!
