    Non-list gun

Perhaps this has been addressed previously but I couldn't find it. Question is this: if one is enamored with a non-list gun (CA safe list) but it is available to LEO only, how can one go about getting one's hands on that there gun?
I really want one of the S&W .327 's model 632, preferably the Pro model.
I'd appreciate any help minus the jail time if possible.

For future reference, the "list" is referrd to as the "Roster" or the "Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale". Try searching for Roster and you'll find an astounding number of hits.

      To answer your question:
A number of ways. You can purchase one that's already in-state from a private party (this includes a LEO who wishes to sell their personal firearm). You may also have one gifted to you by an out of state relative if they are on this list: Grandparent, Parent, Child or Grandchild. (Siblings do NOT count, Vertical bloodline only).

You may also become a LEO or any other exempted class... or you may wait untill Pena Vs. CID is decided, which in turn is waiting on the decision of Nordyke.

Also note, you can't get magazines with capacity greater than 10, even if they come with the firearm unless you're exempted.

Or, perchance, do you know a CA resident who now owns one and is interested in selling?

Someone may have moved one here from out of state. Someone may have received one as an intrafamilial transfer from out of state. Or, a LEO may have one for sale.

Those are the three available routes; Private Party Transfer (PPT) through a CA-FFL by 2 CA residents is the most common transfer.

          non-Roster gun

Nope I not only don't work for the Violence Policy Center, I don't even know what it is. BATF? You're kidding me, right. And no, I don't know a LEO who wants to sell a S&W Model 632. And I am too old for living parents, my only son died before any grandchildren came along and etc, etc. At least I won't have to worry about 10 round magazines because the desired gun is a revolver.
It would appear that I am SOL for right now. Comments or suggestions?

So, my brother in law is LE. If there were an off roster gun that I wanted I could ask him to buy it and not too soon after buy it from him?

There are plenty of on the roster guns I would get before I would even think about doing that, just curious...

Go to the Want to buy section. post an ad asking for what your looking for. You never know, maybe someone has one they are willing to sell.
