im new to the forum, i own a springfield xd 45 gap tactical, (its a awesome gun), but when i went to a local gun store and asked about the xdm, the clerk said that springfield would not release it to cali, why not, that is one sweet pistol, hopefully someone has a real answer for me, thanks.

The .45ACP XD mags will work in the XDm. It's only the 9mm and .40 XDm that are incompatible with the XD.
So the mag issue is not a problem, you can legally obtain mags for it.
But until the roster is repealed, no new guns that don't have both a mag disconnect and LCI.- Rich

But also, if you're lucky, you CAN obtain one from a LEO through PPL with 10 cap mags naturallyComment

they dont make the 10 round mags because the gun is not allowed in CA.
it is not allowed here because there is no mag disconnect safety, and the LCI is not large enough.

Another board member allowed me the pleasure of letting loose at Jackson Arms with his XDM .40 cal. which did have some trigger work done. WOW, I was highly impressed. This was one firearm that, right out the box (literally) had not only, very comfortable ergos, but was spot on accurate from the start...Comment
