    Glock 19 10-round Magazine

I have acquired 2 Glock 19 (10 round) magazines that differ from the ones I currently have.

They appear to be (FML) and (DF) just as the ones I already have, but have distinct different features as follows:

1.) They do not have a "1" stamped to the right of the "Glock" emblem and "Austria" on the rear.

2.) My current magazines do not have a number printed on the floor plate, these have "3206"

3.) The top of the magazine has a distinctly different shape.

I have not fired yet but seem to eject better. I'm guessing they are newer...not sure, they were used. Just curious and prefer to know about the equipment I am using.

Already searched Calguns and read here and did not see an answer.

Is there a notch on both sides of the mag for an ambidextrous mag release? I believe the newer Glock mags are being made with those. Other than that I have no way of knowing old from new magazines. If they operate well while shooting I guess it doesn't matter. I'm not sure what the magazine would have to do with ejecting though.

172- The earliest Glock mags didn't drop free when fully loaded (they would swell and needed to be pulled free when you operated the mag catch button). Later mags dropped free when Glock revised their magazine design (making them steel lined).

There are currently nine generations of Glock magazines.

        If it works, why worry?

So you are saying he is talking about the magazine ejecting, and not the casing?

            Thank you for the replies.

I think they are newer magazines with a notch on both sides for the ambidextrous mag release. (Good call)

What I meant was these seem to fall freely when hitting the mag release much more then my current magazines.

You are right, if it works...it works. As I said I just like to be knowledgeable about the equipment I use, and if I should be looking for a specific/more desirable/better generation of magazine.

            Thanks again!
