CZ 75B question

can the CZ 75B in .40 caliber be converted to 9mm by changing out a barrel, will the 9mm ammo fit in the .40 cz factory mags? I was looking for the CZ board but can't seem to find it, can any one give me a link?

I think you can use 40 mags in 9mm cz75b but you would have to close the feed lips a lil to hold the 9 lower. Here's a link similar to your question.

Don't know about the conversion - CZforum's definitely a good place for that question - but Promag CZ75 .40 mags will hold 9mm with no modifications at all. A 10 round .40 mag will hold 13 rounds of 9mm, so there's a bit of a legal grey area there.

Not really, you'll probubly have reliability issues becasue the breachface iand extractor are cut fot a .40 rim, so the 9mm will be loose in there. The aftermarket barrel will be at least 50% of the cost of a complete 9mm CZ-75B, so I would recommend just getting a second CZ in 9mm (which it was designed for).

No, you can't use 9mm in a MecGar 40 mag, they fall out. I have sucessfully used my 9mm mags with my .40 CZ, but maybe I'm just lucky, they haven't been tested much. I use a full mag w/ extension that holds 20 9mm, or just 15 .40's.

It's a better gun in 9mm than .40 anyhow, more reliable, more capacity, shoots better. I put 70K through my 9mm CZ, maybe 500 through the .40. Both have identical action/trigger jobs, sights, etc.

I'd say the same for a Browning HP...better in it's original design caliber than in .40SW.

I'd also avoid pro mags as CZ mags are easy to get.

I had to change out the spring in my promag 40s&w for it to feed correct in my Desert Baby Eagle.

I dont know about the conversion but I think that its best to get the caliber you want to shoot in.
Having said that, I prefer the 40 cal over the 9mm. and have both a CZ75B as well as a CZ75 Compact both in 40 cal.

If you want the good mags for 40 cal CZ's look to Meggar. Zero issues and the quality is best.

As far as being better in the original caliber rather than the non-original 40 cal.

My Harley was first introduced with the Evo engine but the Twin Cam is much better. The original isnt always the best.

I like my 9mm CZ 75 much better than my 40 cal one. I don't really like my .40 BHP either. Have not shot my 9mm one yet though. I want a .40 S&W Taurus PT 101 though, I guess I haven't learned my lesson! I also have a PT92
