I went with all three Glocks in 45acp...G21, G30 and G36. The G30 is one of my favorites out of all the pistols I own. The only thing I gripe about is when I have a full 10rd mag, its really hard to pull back the slide so I only leave in 9rds which relieves the pressure of a full mag. Does anybody else have this problem with a G30 10rd mag?

I LOVE THIS WEAPON.! I can carry her all day no problem. I can either carry the normal 10 round mag or a Glock 21 Mag with grip extension like in this photo of the weapon. With the Large mag and extension she feels just like my normal Glock 20/21s and holds 14 rounds. (I carry hot).

She is extremely accurate and I have no problems shooting her at the range all afternoon. She's a puppy to shoot. Even my 13 year old daughter loves shooting (two handed) this new Glock. (but her favorite is my 1986 smooth grip Glock 17 )

One thing for sure: You must install the larger slide release. It's almost impossible to release the slide otherwise. Once that $14 part is installed (easy to do; find it on YouTube) she runs perfectly.

I reload so I also installed a Lonewolf stainless barrel...I ordered the slightly longer version because I liked the way it looked. You can shoot lead reloads in this barrel. In fact, the barrel that came with the stock weapon has never been used.

That price you quoted is a STEAL. I paid over $650 for mine. No complaints and well worth it to me.

      Good luck.

Here she is in my Kitchen....hehehe
Hey where did you get the mag extension? Gotta link? I need those for my 13rounders.

You don't need grip reduction, A grip increase is better....

        Great handgun, super accurate.

          That's a steal! I have a g30sf and it's nice but a little more recoil then a 1911.

That's the exact opposite of my experience with my G30SF. It's the softest shooting 45 I have ever owned (USP45C, HK45C, G21SF, TLE II), and the only 45 I currently own. I also shoot it more accurately than any 45 I have ever owned. Even my wife loves to shoot it, she says it's her gun.

It may be because it's so small to me but I did a head to head against a SA loaded and the 1911 killed it in accuracy. I do like the g30sf and maybe I need more range time with it.

                I agree..but I want that option

You're doing it wrong. I carried a 2Gen G21 for ~12 years, then switched to a G33 when I changed jobs, then picked up a G30. 3 Glocks in 15 years. The manual of arms for Glocks is simple and an overhand slide release is the way to go for ANY defensive weapon.

If you want a 1911 with a big honking aftermarket slide stop with extra release, fine. It's still the wrong way to do it. I have been shooting 1911's for 35 years, the slide stop is far less useful as a slide release when in the original format, and having it stick out a foot makes it a crappy carry gun. The extended Glock slide stop is vastly inferior to the extended 1911 stops, so what's the point again?

I find the 45 ACP Glocks, at least the 21 and 30 (dunno about the 36) to be the most accurate of the tribe. I don't know if it is that the 45 is soft shooting, but the 9mm and 40 S&W Glocks I've shot, while perfectly fine for social use, aren't anything like as accurate.

                Enjoy your 30!

                Regards,
                Brian in CA
All I ever do is the overhand slide release. I own 11 Glocks and carried all of them; including the G 21 since 1992. All G 21s started as Generation 2.

I still own my first Glock 17 that has 40,000 rounds and still runs smooth. (1986 or 7) Yes, I reload. hahaha...

But I want the option of releasing the slide with a single (shooting) hand and my 30 was way too tight. Of course Glocks don't need mod work out of the box; but the so called extended slide release (that you can see in this photo) is only slightly larger than the stock flat one and for me, worth the $14 bucks.

I agree that the .45 Glocks are accurate. And my Glock 20 is a zippy tack driver as well. My next OD Glock is a 29 that is in a FFL safe waiting for my 30day wait approaching at the end of this month.

I'am on a Glock Jack lately and my collection of 1911's are locked in a dark safe. (Neglected)

                Be well Brian....and happy shooting.

Well..........I am the new owner of a G30 , now have to wait the "darn" 10 day crap !

oh well..something to look fwd to........now to check my stock of 45acp ammo..

this G30-OD came with 3 10rd mags and just ordered 4 more , I'll let ya all know how it shoots......I'm used to my Combat Commander , so might be a bit of extra traning needed...only Glock I've ever owned was a 19 , back in the 90's...should have keep that one ! had lots of those "bad" hi-caps .......(bad as in GOOD)..

added the Pearce grip ext to the 3 mags I have now...better fit on the little pinkie !

Thanks for the help / info.....................Semper Fi.

I had a 30 and a 30 sf both were good guns. I sold both I think I would buy a 36 this time, a lot slimmer for carry.

Now I moslty carry Glock 23.
Did you really need +p in a .45?

I love shooting my 30SF more so than my 21. Great target gun and is my off duty carry pistol.

FWIW.... I have a 19, 30SF, M&P J frame .357, Pro Cary CDP II and an FNP 45 to choose from for my CCW. I almost always reach for the 30 unless I'm in stretchy type waist band shorts. Then it's the M&P.

Out of the short G30 barrel? Absolutely. If you want reliable expansion, yes, yes you do want +P.
