SIG 220's are AWESOME pistols, but they only hold 8 rounds

I wish they would come out with a P220 variation in .45 with doublestack mags.

CZ97 is the same as EAA Witness isnt it??

I shot a wonderful CZ97 yesterday, that'd be a nice way to go. I much prefer a single action trigger, but the CZ trigger wasn't too bad as far as double action triggers go. You really should consider the "standard" .45s like the 1911s and Sig 220 series, it's only two rounds difference, and you really oughta be able to do the job with 9 rounds of .45ACP unless you've got a fast moving zombie problem.

But as far as 10rd .45s go, the HK USP, CZ97, XD-45, some of the Glocks, or perhaps even a wide-body 1911 are all reliable good quality pistols. If money is not a huge factor the HK would be your best bet.

              Glock 36, but only 7 rounds (6+1).
Taurus Mil Pro PT145, slightly shorter than a G-26, similiar width, 10+1 rounds of .45

10 makes for a fat pistol.

                7~8 rounds of .45 happiness in a 1911 or P220.

Well they do make the 10 round mags that stick down a little bit. The promag ones look really clean though, I would even go so far as to say they improve the look .

                    Recommend H&K USP 45

I would recommend the H&K USP 45, which comes with 10 round magazines in California and 12 round magazines in free states. I've had one for about 6 years, and it is accurate and very reliable.

Any 1911 with Wilson Bureaucrat 10 round mags.

Or any 1911 with standard 8rd magazines and just don't start conflicts with groups of more than 9 people.

And the Taurus? Come on. I'd take a 1911 with even gov't issue 7rd mags over 10+1 in a gun that I couldn't honestly trust. The G-36 is nice, but it's so darn small, its hard for even an experienced shooter to not limpwrist it. Plus he seems set on 10+1, if he wanted 6+1 and small he could go with a Kahr or a compact 1911!

i like 1911 very much, but good ones cost way too much and i can't afford to hire a smith to tinker with a base one. HK feels really good but that's out of my price range and the Sig p220 is a great looking pistol also, but a little pricy.

so i figured i might as well go with something that holds 10 rnds and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm trying to explore my option in this range, around 500 bucks and holds 10rds. So far I didn't come up with too many options. the EAA witness looks great but too bad they're not on the ca list Is there anything else that fits this category besides the CZ, XD, and Taurus?

I really hate Tauraus, had a revolver from them before and broke the trigger on the first range trip. After sending it back for the life time warranty (they had it for 2 month) somehow tauraus decided that it will be cheaper to send me a new one instead of repairing it. I ended up trading it in for cheap and that "affordable" gun ended up costing me the price of a S&W. I'm still pissed about it.
