    Opinion wanted...

CDNN grips for Ruger Security Six. The one with checking is stock and the other one was same type of grip... but sanded smooth, stained and tung-oil. It's my friend's Ruger... trying to figure out with is a better looking grip in public opinion. Both grip feels good in hand.

    Which you guys like more?

Hm, well this is where everyone says
"get what feels good in your hands"

But since both do, I would say the checkered ones. It adds just a little more grip compared to the smooth grips. In my experience, more grip = better follow-up shots if the need to shoot fast and accurately ever arises. Smooth grip would make me have to adjust my grip after a couple shots.

I like the non-checkered version, purely on the basis of aesthetic appearance, as I haven't shot either one of them.

i like the smooth ones better and the checkering pattern looks a little sparse to me...i like a wider pattern

Purely on aesthetics, I like the checkered.

I put a Houge rubber grip on mine 22 years ago. It's still there because, it is comfortable to shoot and, when I'm shooting it, I could not care less about how it looks.

Between the two, gotta go checkered.

I have a rubber Pachmayr grip on my Security Six.

Checkered. In my opinion, smooth grips look much more at home on single action revolvers than DAs.

I would normally say checkered, but I am not crazy about those pictured. Between the two, I prefer the smooth, however I agree with Sequoia Nomad that smooth grips look more at home on SA revolvers.
