    Fourty Niner 949 Model

Hey CG'ers I posted up an ad over in the 4-sale without doing my due diligence and was hammered... consider me spanked and lesson learned. I have a Fourty Niner Model 949 in mint condition still in the box that was handed down to me after my grandfather passed. It's a 9 shot .22 and has a serial # W 5**** Does anyone know the value of this particular handgun? Both the handgun and the box looks as though they just came off the shelf. I've tried to search the net for info on the gun and there is a lot of confusing info that comes back. ANy help would be much appreciated! Feel free to email me privately if you's like

    who is the manufacturer?
    where was it manufactured?
949 is an old Iver Johnson code, I think...
When would grandad have purchased it?

That would be an H&R 9 shot DA revolver with a "cowboy" style. Actually a pretty nice piece and some of us collect them.
Depending on condition they go for $150 to maybe $250

For that amount of money keep it learn to shoot it and teach you kids how to shoot it.You can't put a price on history. It can be a many generation toy for the family to enjoy.
